Lecture

An informative lecture was arranged by Weaving & Knitting Society on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 according to the following details:

Topic:                Knitting Technology

Speaker:           Mr. Akbar Affandi

                         Director (Pakistan Region) Karl Mayer & Mayer & C.

This lecture was arranged especially for the 1st & 3rd semester students of Knitting Technology, Fabric Manufacturing Department.

The guest and the students were entertained with refreshments at the end of the lecture.

Industrial Visit

Weaving & Knitting Society 2011-12 arranged an industrial visit to Rana Textile Mills, Faisalabad on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The tour was arranged for the students of  8th semester, Fabric Manufacturing Department. The class of 32 students lead by three faculty members Ms. Hafsa Riaz, Chairperson, FMD, Mr. Usman Javed, Lecturer, FMD & Ms. Sania Waqar, Lecturer, FMD were welcomed by Mr. M Yasin, General Manager, Rana Textile Mills (Jacquard Unit). The students were given a brief overview of the mechanical & electronic jacquard process in the unit. The students also visited the warp knitting machines installed in the unit.

Industrial Visit

Weaving & Knitting Society 2011-12 arranged an industrial visit to Redco Textile Mills, Rawat, Rawalpindi on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The tour was arranged for the students of  8th semester, Fabric Manufacturing Department. The class of 32 students lead by two faculty members Ms. Hafsa Riaz, Chairperson, FMD & Mr. Usman Javed, Lecturer, FMD were welcomed by Mr. Bashir Ahmed, General Manager, Redco Textile Mills. The students were given a brief overview of the weaving process in the unit. At the end the students were entertained with lunch.

Training Session on Loom Settings

Weaving & Knitting Society 201112 arranged a training session on Friday, January 27, 2012 regarding the Starting Mark problems, its causes and prevention by changing loom settings. The guest speaker in the session was Mr. Muhammad Rehan, Mills Manager, Nishat Mills Ltd. Chunian. The session was solely arranged for Final Year students who are going to pass out in near future to cop up with the concerned issues in weaving industry.

The guest and students were entertained with Hi-Tea at the end of event.

Industrial Visit

Weaving & Knitting Society 2011-12 arranged an industrial visit to Klash Textile Mills, Knitting Unit, Faisalabad on January 26, 2012 for the students of 3rd & 1st  semester, Knitting Technology, FMD. The group of 40 students lead by Ms. Hafsa Riaz, Chairperson, FMD were welcomed by General Manager, Klash Textile Mills. The students visited the knitting unit thoroughly and got sufficient information about circular & flat knitting machines. At the end of the visit refreshments were served to the students.

Industrial Visit

Weaving & Knitting Society 2011-12 arranged an industrial visit to Nishat Dyeing & Finishing (Weaving Unit) , Lahore on January 14, 2012 for the students of 3rd semester, FMD. The group of students lead by Ms. Hafsa Riaz, Chairperson, FMD were welcomed by Mr. Saeed Nawaz Khan, General Manager, NDF. The students visited the weaving unit thoroughly. At the end of the visit refreshments were served to the students and faculty members.

Industrial Visit

Weaving & Knitting Society 201112 arranged an industrial visit to Lawrencepur Woolen & Textile Mills, Attock on Saturday, January 14, 2012. The tour was arranged for the students of  6th semester, Fabric Manufacturing Department. The class of 38 students lead by a faculty membe Mr. Zohaib Ahmed, Lecturer, FMD were welcomed by Mr. Aman-ul-Haq, General Manager, Lawrencepur Woolen & Textile Mills. The students were given a brief overview of the Weaving process of dyed yarn in the unit. At the end the students were entertained with refreshments.

Industrial Tour

Weaving & Knitting society 2011 arranged an industrial tour to Prosperity Weaving Mills, Sheikhupura for the students of 5th semester, Fabric Manufacturing Department. The students under supervision of Mr. Zohaib Ahmed, Lecturer, FMD were welcomed at the weaving unit by Mr. Farooq Shah (MM) and Mr. Ashfaq (MM).

The students were given a complete overview of process from yarn to fabric. At the end the faculty member & students were entertained with refreshments.

 

Discussion Session

Weaving & Knitting Society 2011 arranged a discussion session regarding the problems faced by fresh graduates in Textile Industry. The guest in the session was Mr. Farooq Saqib, General Manager, Kohinoor Textile Mills, Raiwind.

The session was solely arranged for Final Year students who are going to pass out in near future.

The guest and students were entertained with Hi-Tea at the end of event.
